I read the quote, "If you travel far enough, you'll find yourself". I hope everyone has a chance to travel that far one day. We've spent about 3.5 weeks on the road so far. . . which is nothing compared to the 7 months we have planned. . . but only now am I starting to feel settled. Little bits of warm light seeping through. Feeling rooted while moving from place to place is a difficult balance. But I'm here. Now. And I carry consistency within me instead of finding it in my surroundings. I've always admired people who could do that. With 10 states and 6 shows under our belt, we've made some incredible memories.

After Pennsylvania, we headed for Charleston, WV. Charleston has become one of my favorite music cities in the Northeast. The band and I toured through Charleston this past summer and we were treated to an enthusiastic, music loving audience. I was able to perform on the local radio station before my show at Sam's Uptown Cafe.
We then headed to Asheville, NC. The forests surrounding Asheville and Great Smokey Mountain National Park were in danger because of wildfires. The city was hazy and there was a campfire smell hanging in the air. We had an incredible time exploring Asheville, eventually heading north to Marshall, NC where I performed at Good Stuff.

From North Carolina, we headed to Georgia. Savannah is a city that I've wanted to visit for quite some time. It is rich with history and home to some of the most historic architecture in the United States. Boondocking on Tybee Island and the drive through the oak trees at Wormsloe Historic Site were our highlights!

Thanksgiving was an experience all it's own. The morning started with a swim in the ocean and a delicious breakfast in Jacksonville, FL. So far so good.

While everyone else was settling down to a delicious dinner with their family, I was eating a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream on the curb in the parking lot of an overcrowded (Black Friday) Walmart. We lost a part to our grill, so we were unable to cook any of the groceries we bought. If any of you have every traveled on Thanksgiving Day you know NOTHING is open. So I ended my Thanksgiving getting turned away from Chinese take out, trampled by Black Friday shoppers, and finally eating some Domino's pizza. I still havn't had any turkey.
Thankfully, Thanksgiving is about more than turkey. We have so so much to be thankful for - food in our bellies, a roof over our heads (even if it is on wheels), and songs to share!

Most of our time has been spent in Florida. When New Yorkers think of Florida, they imagine white sandy beaches and Disney World. However this state has some beautiful gems that take a little exploring to find. St. Augustine is a city filled with dazzling Spanish colonial architecture. It's history is so long that it claims to be the oldest continually occupied settlement in the US. We spent some extra time there because we enjoyed it so much.

My favorite Florida discovery has been Ichetucknee Springs. With crystal blue waters and some very friendly fish, it is a paradise on earth! You can swim over underwater caverns and caves in the 72 degree springs. I took full advantage of this time in paradise.
